Dedication to the Client

The choice of a law firm is a critical decision. At McLeod, Watkinson & Miller, our first job is to determine our clients' goals and then to do all we can to meet or exceed them. Our top priorities are to provide the best possible legal service, thoroughly respond to our clients' needs, and work to achieve their desired results. Our proven track record for successful representation is illustrated by the fact that many of our clients have been with us for decades, and a vast majority of our business is based on client referrals. We believe an open line of communication between our clients and us enables us to be responsive to our clients' needs, concerns, and questions. It also helps us to keep our clients informed of our progress toward their goals.

Years of Experience and Expertise

Our attorneys have represented clients in several landmark cases and others of national importance. Many areas of law have been defined or expanded based on court decisions in cases litigated by our attorneys. Our practice includes federal and state court litigation across the nation as well as representation before government agencies on the federal and state level. Members of our firm include a former Chief Counsel and Staff Director of the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee; a former Acting Under Secretary of Agriculture and Chief of Staff of the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee; a former Chief of Staff to Members of Congress and professional staff members from Capitol Hill; and former attorneys and chief lobbyists for the National Pork Producers Council and the National Grain Trade Council; and a President and Chief Executive Officer of the Rice Millers' Association, the USA Rice Federation and the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives; an attorney who was a partner in a national law firm, and several other attorneys with large firm experience.

McLeod, Watkinson & Miller is committed to providing pro bono legal service and service to the Bar and the community. For example, we provide pro bono service to an AIDS advocacy group working to eradicate AIDS in the African American community. Our attorneys serve the Bar and professional organizations in leadership roles and teach continuing legal education courses for the District of Columbia Bar. Our attorneys also have assumed leadership roles in a number of community service organizations that promote education and the arts. Our attorneys and other staff have participated in "Everybody Wins," a reading program in the District of Columbia schools.
