Having served in multiple capacities in both the legislative and executive branches of the federal government, Christopher J. Salisbury has first-hand familiarity with Congress and the federal regulatory process, and his legal experience includes administrative, regulatory, agricultural, international trade and food and drug law. Since joining McLeod, Watkinson & Miller, Mr. Salisbury has devoted the majority of his practice to the broad-based representation of corporations and associations involved in food, agriculture and agribusiness, with particular focus on regulatory matters involving USDA and FDA.

Former Positions Held
Mr. Salisbury began his career as an aide to Senator Richard Lugar, serving as Professional Staff Member for the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry under then-Chairman Lugar. Mr. Salisbury handled international trade, food aid, credit and rural development issues for the Chairman. During his tenure on the Committee, Mr. Salisbury was closely involved in a number of major pieces of legislation, including the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002, with particular involvement in the Act's Trade Title. After leaving Capitol Hill, he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) as Senior Policy Advisor for the Office of International Affairs from 2003 to 2005. At FSIS, he worked on various import and export matters and was closely involved in a broad array of the agency's regulatory work in both domestic and international contexts. Mr. Salisbury joined McLeod, Watkinson & Miller in 2005.
