Mr. Gordon-Clark specializes in patent law and patent prosecution. He also has extensive experience in intellectual property law, patent and intellectual property licensing, and general business law. Besides his intellectual property practice, Mr. Gordon-Clark has counseled internet businesses and organizations on terms of use and privacy issues. He has also assisted in the creation and administration of games, contests and sweepstakes. He has coordinated these efforts with concerns relating to the use of these services by minors, especially regarding the safety and privacy of children.
Before coming to McLeod, Watkinson and Miller, Mr. Gordon-Clark ran his own patent practice working on patent prosecution and licensing for a diverse group of inventors. During this time he gained experience advancing the growth of new companies and enterprises. This work required a focus on the selection of an appropriate business organization, the development of products, work force issues and even inheritance planning. Mr. Gordon-Clark also assisted clients in marketing inventions for development by third parties and the negotiation of related licenses.
Former Positions Held
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Gordon-Clark was a scientific analyst for Latham and Watkins in San Francisco working on biotechnology litigation matters, and a high school biology teacher in Pennsylvania and California.
